I am entirely self-taught. My Step Grandfather was a famous artist and once said to me: “Never go to art school, they’ll take your gift and mold it into something else.” I heeded his words and have gone my own way ever since. I am a native of Sedona, AZ where I grew up on a horse and cattle ranch. I began molding tiny clay animals at the age of 2 and drawing shortly thereafter. My parents recognized the artistry right away and continually supplied me with clay and paper, paints, pencils and whatever it took to allow the free-flow of the creativity. I am forever grateful to them for allowing me the freedom and for their endless encouragement. I have no guidelines when it comes to my work. Whatever I feel is what occurs with my art. I love to co-create with clients. This is probably the most gratifying work of all because they have an interactive role in the art. The smiles and the hugs are well worth the time and effort. Every piece of art I design is one-of-a-kind, never to be repeated. It is what and who I am, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to share it. More about me and my work:
- With painting. I am well versed in oil, acrylic watercolor, brush and ink, mixed-media, as well as pencil, colored pencil and I use the airbrush as an accent occasionally.
- Furniture is steel and stone with almost anything added that the client wishes, from wood to feathers, leather, hand painting, antiquing and even stones set into the pieces.
